Protein-Packed Porridge

Breakfast is often called ‘the most important meal of the day’. And it is! Breakfast breaks the overnight fasting period and replenishes your supply of glucose (blood sugar) to boost your energy levels and alertness. It also provides essential nutrients needed for good health.

Protein-packed porridge is an easy, healthy breakfast option to kickstart your day. This recipe takes about 2 minutes of preparation, 3 minutes of cooking time and makes 1 serving.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup rolled oats 
  • ⅓ cup blueberries (fresh or frozen) 
  • 1 tbsp vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tbsp almond flakes
  • 1tsp chia seeds
  • Honey (to taste)
  • Milk
  • Water

Instructions

  • Put rolled oats and blueberries in a microwavable bowl. Add water to the bowl until the rolled oats are covered. 
  • Microwave on high for 2 minutes. 
  • Pull the bowl out, give it a quick stir and microwave it for another minute to absorb remaining water. 
  • Add vanilla protein powder, almond flakes, chia seeds and honey to the bowl. 
  • Add a touch of milk (depending on how creamy you like your porridge).
