COVID-19 Update: VTAS Fitness Centre reopening with restrictions

On Saturday, March 6, 2021, the VTAS Fitness Centre will reopen to members, with the following rules and procedures in effect:

  • Members are permitted access by appointment only. To book an appointment, please contact Sandra at (780)258-0024 at least 24 hours in advance. Please cancel your appointment if you are not able to attend, so it may be filled by another member.
  • No drop-ins allowed.
  • A VTAS COVID-19 waiver form must be completed and emailed to t.sandra4321@gmail.com or dropped off at the fitness centre prior to using the facility. Please note that your waiver must include a WITNESS signature. Download the waiver forms here: 18 years and over OR 17 years and under.
  • If members have not already done so, a VTAS Fitness Centre Waiver form must also be completed and emailed to t.sandra4321@gmail.com or dropped off at the fitness centre prior to using the facility.   • Upon every visit, a VTAS COVID Check In/Check Out Form must be completed and left at the fitness centre. This form can be found at the entrance of the facility.

Fitness Activity Restrictions

  • Only low intensity fitness activities are allowed. (I.e. Activities not focused specifically on cardio with a high depth and rate of respiration.)
  • Rowing, spin and elliptical machines will not be available for use at this time.
  • Body building/heavy weightlifting is not permitted at this time.

Health & Safety Guidelines

  • If you are sick, please stay home.
  • Masks are required while in the gym. Please bring your own mask.
  • Maintain social distancing of 6 feet or 2 meters at all times.
  • Use the hand sanitizer provided upon entry and departure of facility.
  • Wipe gym equipment before and after use.
  • Keep ventilation fan running at all times.
  • Change room capacity is 2 people maximum.
  • Do not leave personal belongings at the facility.

Personal Trainers

High intensity fitness is permitted with a one-on-one trainer only. If a paid member of the VTAS Fitness Centre is interested in hiring a personal trainer, the following individuals have made themselves available for booking:

  • Sherrie Kapach – (780)722-8491 (Offering promotion of 25% discount for month of March)

Prevent the Spread

Do not enter the VTAS Fitness Centre if you have:

  • A fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose or shortness of breath.
  • Been tested positive for COVID-19.
  • Been in contact with a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case.
  • Travelled outside of Canada within the last 14 days.
